Q&A: What major should I pursue to go into prosthetic research?

Question by mb135099: What major should I pursue to go into prosthetic research?
I want to go into researching technologies used for prosthetic limbs such as artificial muscle, communications between the prosthetic and the brain, or work on ways to improve dexterity. My interest is mostly at the molecular level.

I’ve been having some trouble finding what major to study to go into such a field. At first I was thinking biochemistry/chemical biology but after doing some research I think Chemical and Biomolecular engineering might be the one to go with. Can anyone help me out with this?

That usually falls under bioengineering. I know Clemson University has a program in bioengineering and does research in prosthetics – you might want to look into their program.

Q&A: Classic/Old morning cartoon Shows?

Question by Randy Mcnally: Classic/Old morning cartoon Shows?
Classic/Old Morning Cartoon Shows *1990s* maybe early 2000s

Hi I was wondering if anyone *who watched morning cartoons as a kid*
watching a show on Channel 5,9,11,13 *one of those channels i don’t specifically remember since it was so long ago*

A show which had a 3d scifi/fantasy/action theme.

The setting went from…Earth in the future to different planets.

It included a squad specialized in killing these alien bugs.

The chief or captain of the squad always kept his helmet on kind of like in the game Halo. And unsure of weither or not he was human or robot he had a prosthetic arm. Or maybe he was just a full on cyborg.

I understand the general description is kind of….well Very Vague. But Playing halo recently I remembered this show and I was Just wondering what the name of the show was/etc.

Any help would be appreciated. Even suggestions of what the show i’m thinking of MIGHT BE.

But the things I am certain of are:
1. Morning cartoon show aired 1990s-early 2000s.
2. 3d
3. Plot fighting off bug looking like aliens.
4. Chief looked like master sergeant from halo

**EDIT**
I’m almost certain your looking for “Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles”

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roughnecks:…

Which I’ve never seen, I saw the live action movie “Starship Troopers” which has a plot of going to to space to fight in a war against bugs. I was thinking about the movie after answering because it sound a lot like that and suddenly remembered hearing it had a cartoon. Just look at the page that is it, it’s CGI and the the guy look like Master Chief in the photo

I only recall three 3D/CGI animated series, Reboot, Beast Wars: Transformers, and Max Steel. It’s definitely not Reboot which FYI was the first full length CGI series so your show could not have aired before Reboot (1994)

It might be “Beast Wars: Transformers” Which aired in 1996

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beast_wars#…

And/Or it’s sequel Beast Machines

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beast_Machi…

The transformers transform between an animal and a humanoid robot. There were a few Insect based transformers but I don’t recall bug aliens they always fought, maybe the sequel which I’ve never seen.

It could also possibly be “Max Steel” which I barely remember so I couldn’t say if it fits or clashes wit the description.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Steel

It aired on Kids WB in 2000.

Looking for a prosthetic makeup school anywhere in texas, can anyone name one?

Question by Katy Lady: Looking for a prosthetic makeup school anywhere in texas, can anyone name one?
I want to take a professional prosthetic makeup course, but while doing that i want to stay as close to home as i possibly can – in Texas. In case you were wondering, prosthetic makeup is theatrical and film makeup ( monsters, old age, hair, and all) I am having trouble finding any schools. Preferably a school similar to Joe blasco Makeup schools which are located in Hollywood and Orlando.
